Cookie policy

UX Refinery runs on a handful of cookies, and with your permission a few more. We set the minimum we need and nothing sneaky. Here is the full list, in plain language.

We follow South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) wherever it applies. Under both, non-essential cookies only land on your device after you clearly agree. Changed your mind? You can take it back at any time.

Strictly necessary cookies

These keep the site working, for instance remembering the cookie choices you made. They hold nothing that identifies you personally, and they cannot be switched off. Sorry, that bit is not up for debate.

Analytics cookies

These show us, in aggregate, how visitors use the site, which pages get read and which get ignored, so we can improve it. They only appear if you accept them in the consent banner. Our analytics run on Google Analytics, which processes this technical data on servers outside South Africa, as our privacy policy explains.

Marketing cookies

These measure our campaigns and help tailor content. We do not sell your information to anyone, full stop. Again, only set with your permission.

Managing your choices

First visit, you get a banner: accept everything, reject everything, or pick by category. Afterwards the “Cookie settings” button in the footer reopens the same choice whenever you like. Clearing cookies in your browser also wipes our record of your choice, so the banner will simply ask again.
