At UX Refinery, we have a structured and thorough approach to conducting research projects. Our process includes the following steps:

1. Kick-off call

We start every research project with a kick-off call to discuss the specific goals and objectives of the project, as well as any constraints or limitations. This helps us to ensure that we have a clear understanding of your needs and can design a research plan that meets your expectations.

2. Defining research objectives, business questions and/or hypotheses

It is the client’s responsibility to define the specific research objectives, business questions, and/or hypotheses that we will be addressing through our research. This helps to ensure that we are focusing on the most important aspects of the user experience and providing actionable insights for your business.

3. Defining sample criteria

To ensure that our research is representative of your target audience, we will work with you to define the sample criteria for our research participants. This may include demographics, behaviors, or other characteristics that are relevant to your business.

4. Creating a research plan

Based on the research objectives, business questions, and sample criteria, we will create a research plan that includes the chosen research methodology and any necessary materials or tools.

5. Design, preparation and setup

Before we begin conducting research, we need to design the study and prepare the necessary research materials. This includes creating survey questionnaires, test scripts, and discussion/moderator guides. We will also set up the studies on the applicable research platforms and brief the respondent/participant recruiters accordingly. We will work closely with you to ensure that all research materials meet your approval. This helps to ensure that the research is aligned with your goals and objectives, and that we are able to capture the necessary data to provide valuable insights.

6. Fieldwork/Data collection

This is the phase where we actually conduct the research, whether it be through surveys, usability tests, interviews, or other methods. We will work with you to ensure that the fieldwork is conducted according to the agreed upon research plan and timeline.

7. Analysis

After conducting the research, we will analyse the data and generate insights that are relevant to your business.

8. Reporting

We will present the findings of our research in a clear and concise report, complete with recommendations for improving the user experience.

9. Presenting (optional)

If desired, we can also present the findings of our research in a presentation format. This is an additional service that can be provided for an additional cost.
